Australian Cattle Dogs

There always have been, and always will be advantages and disadvantages in owning a dog, no matter what the breed. The decision to purchase a dog is a bit like deciding to get married or have a baby. It is a commitment, that certainly comes with challenges, lifestyle changes, highs and lows, happiness, joy, disspointment and sadness. One will hope that the advantages will outweigh the disadvantages ~ sometimes they do and sometimes they don't.

We encourage anyone interested in the ACD breed to do further research, as this website is just a brief overview. Check out some of the links and PDF files. Find out all you can about the breed, ask as many question as possible. There are excellent websites on the internet and published books about this unique breed. Check out some of books that we recommend.

Take the time necessary and consider all aspects of this breed before you decide to purchase an ACD puppy or even an older dog.

The well being of our dogs/puppies is paramount and the Australian Cattle Dog is not for everyone.

We are not a professional kennel and we do not show our dogs even though they may be of show quality. We were careful in our selection of breeders that we purchased from and were careful to purchase dogs with a strong pedigree and with parents having a healthy background.

Our two dogs are very much a part of our family and are more pets than they are working or herding dogs. They are our trusted companions, friends and partners here on the farm.

We allow our dogs to breed once a year, or every second heat cycle to ensure the health and longevity of our female. Our dogs are vet checked once a year and receive all vacinations including deworming, especially prior to breeding.

Our dogs are fed quality, organic dry dog food and are given natural bones to chew along with plenty of toys to play with. The also have each other for company and companionship.

Oscar can be hired for studding services. Contact Us to discuss details. Visit "our dogs" page to view Oscar's pedigree and records.

From earliest history man and dog have formed a non threatening, constructive bond of emotion and communication. In what now seems an almost magnetic attraction,
these two seekers for survival found a relationship that even today can cut through the artificiality of technological stresses. Our very senses have lost contact with the
circuits that link us to the rest of nature ~ and to ourselves. By taking up again the age-old kinship between man and dog, we can begin to slow the pell-mell rush toward
extinction not only of an "endangered species" but of man himself. When we lose the essence of our own life, we jeopardize a other life in our own death throes.
The essence and survival of the dog itself lies in its sound relation to man"
